Fournews Developments was created by five directors, each with extensive knowledge, experience and expertise in the food and beverage industry. The five of us are committed to relentlessly building every aspect of the Fournews Development Group of companies.
Chief Executive Officer (CEO)
Combine a keen business acumen with big ideas and attention to detail, and you'll recognise something of our CEO, Stavros Florias. In 1995, Stavros founded News Cafe with Lambros Argyris, and currently he's involved in the day to day running of the company, as well as its future growth and development. He also overlooks the design and development of all new outlets, where the most appropriate new and unique design innovations are continuously implemented. In 1999, Stavros received the prestigious Greek Young Businessman of the Year Award, an award which is presented annually by by the Greek Chamber of Commerce in South Africa.
Franchising Director
Our Franchising Director, Lambros Agyris, comes from a family of restauranters, and together with Stavros Florias, he opened the first News Cafe in Hatfield, Pretoria. Lambros gained extensive experience from his father, who started the "House Of Coffees" brand. He also has a wealth of knowledge and experience in franchising, having started "Postnet" and other well-established franchise brands in South Africa.
Managing Director Headline Leisure Management
Michael Deftereos cut his teeth in the food and beverages industry as a Marketing Manager at Foodgro; brandholders of the Black Steer and Flame brands. In 1996, he resigned to open Mozzarella's Italian Kitchen, and in 1997 merged with the Fournews Developments Group. Michael is responsible for the day to day operations and management of Headline Leisure Management.
Marketing Director
Nick Eleftheriadis was a Senior Brand Manager for Pleasure Foods - Wimpy South Africa, before joining National Brands. After gaining invaluable experience in the food and beverages industry, he joined News Cafe in 1996, with the opening of News Cafe in Musgrave, Durban. As our Marketing Director, Nick devises and implements marketing strategies for News Cafe and the Fournews Developments group as a whole.
Chief Financial Officer (CFO)
Evan Florias is a qualified Chartered Accountant and also attained a Higher Diploma in Tax Law. Evan is the CFO of Fournews Developments, and together with his department, control management accounts of all the group stores and the financial requirements of the various companies within the Fournews Developments group.
